The Buffalo Bills had a mission going into the NFL Draft. With needs at various positions across the defense, as well needing to bring in another wide receiver, Brandon Beane did exactly that plus more. With the changes that the Bills have gone through this offseason with firing Sean McDermott, promoting Joe Brady to head coach, and bringing in a new coaching staff, Buffalo had to find ways to keep their championship window open.

Everyone already knows that as long as Josh Allen is playing like the best player on the planet, the Bills are always going to be a Super Bowl contender. At the same time, Buffalo can’t just be relying on Allen to carry them like he has for many years. It was time to bring in extra help.

With the moves they made in free agency, trading for D.J. Moore, and then drafting a high-potential draft class, the Bills are setting themselves up to stay in the Super Bowl bubble but also not ignore the future either.

Bills are placed exactly where fans want to see them on power rankings list

Pete Prisco from CBS Sports created his post-NFL Draft power rankings list and the Bills find themselves at No. 3, which has them at the top amongst the AFC teams. The only teams ahead of them are the Seahawks and Rams.

The Bills were actually the only team in the AFC East that was in the Top 10. The Patriots landed at No. 11, the Jets were at No. 27, and the Dolphins were all the way down at No. 31 only ahead of the Cardinals.

"They addressed defense early in the draft, which they had to do. New coordinator Jim Leonhard needs his style of guys on that side of the ball." said Prisco.

Buffalo is coming off a bit of a down year since they lost the AFC East to the New England Patriots. Then again, the Patriots had a historically easy schedule and now they will have to play a much tougher schedule without adding a whole lot of talent this offseason. The fact that the Bills finished at 12-5 last season despite finishing in second place shows that they aren’t going anywhere.

Buffalo should be focusing on the second wave of free agency now and with them having over $12 million in cap space to use, they need to look at the market and see who is still available that can come in and be an asset to the team.
