When the NFL Draft came to an end this past Saturday, fans across the NFL got a better understanding of what their favorite teams were looking to do with their roster. Some may agree and some will obviously disagree. The Buffalo Bills have had an offseason that started in chaos when they made a head coaching change from Sean McDermott to Joe Brady.

Brandon Beane not only remained the general manager, but he also earned the title of President of Football Operations. This caused a lot of pushback because there were fans who thought that Beane, not McDermott, should have been the one that was shown the door.

Instead, Beane stayed, led the head coaching search, and has brought in free agents and rookies that fans are hoping will make an impact both right now and later in the future. Beane definitely had a great Round 3 of the draft as he brought in some solid talent to fill out their draft class.

Now that the draft is over, the Bills can look to the second wave of free agency to keep filling out the roster. I recently wrote about how Buffalo’s next roster move after the draft was painfully obvious in bringing back Tre’Davious White to add to the cornerback room. There is another current Bills free agent that the Bills should be looking to add back to the defense.

Bills must look to re-sign LB Shaq Thompson with NFL Draft being over

When the Bills signed Shaq Thompson last summer, little did we know that he would end up being the best linebacker last season. He filled in for injuries that Buffalo was going through at the position, and he came through big time.

He was a mixture of Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard when you think about their skillset and there were some hard crushing hits that he delivered. When the Bills were eliminated from the playoffs, Thompson told the media that he wanted to come back to Buffalo, but that he would also evaluate his options.

Now that the draft is over and Thompson still remains unsigned, it makes sense for both him and the Bills to agree on a reunion because quite frankly, the Bills still need to add another linebacker or two even after drafting Kalen Elarms-Orr in the 4th round.

Bringing back Thompson brings stability to the overall room and he could be a great mentor of Elarms-Orr, who could become a starter sooner than later in his career if Dorian Williams is not brought back after 2026.
